And so are holiday gifts and cards... So if you are on your way to Sears or JC Penny or (GASP!) Target to get your holiday photos taken... Please Please Please. Put down the keys and call me :)
The last two days have been so much fun, I had the pleasure of hanging out with some lovely ladies and their youngins: the CUTEST little babies on earth. I know, all babies are the cutest. But really, it was so much fun.
check it out...
Yippee!!
All these were shot in my natural light studio... I am baby-proofing as we speak, so if you have any suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them!

Cortney and Stan!!!
Cortney and Stan were married in Los Altos (oops, I know I said Palo Alto...just kidding!!!) in September...
I met Cortney at the salon before heading over to The Chateau, I was so impressed with how cool she was!!!
Frank went to meet with Stan and his family as he was getting ready...
It was important to the couple that their wedding be personal and intimate, and they really accomplished that!
have you ever seen a couple who can do that?? :) so cute, and in her wedding dress!!!!

In the City!!!
Kirstin and Keith were married in September in San Francisco- rare to have a city wedding, and rare to have the pleasure of shooting the wedding of a dear friend!
We started the day at the Fairmont Hotel..
And despite the construction... It was still an absolutely beautiful ceremony at St Paul's in Noe Valley...
Combining the Jewish and Catholic traditions for the ceremony worked out famously with both a Rabbi and Catholic Priests running the show... I'm thinking this was the first "glass-breaking" at this church!
Then we headed over to the Olympic Club, Lakeside for the reception...
Weddings are always touching. I always end up feeling connected by the end of the day. It was, however, a bit different to watch so closely as my friend walked through her big day... I feel like I gained some perspective that I didn't even know I was missing... So you really do just keep on learning...
I have to thank Kirstin & Keith for giving me the honor of shooting their wedding!!! So thank you!! :)

Tips for a fun Engagement Session
Ha!! Its been so long since I've blogged... Its been a crazy lovely summer... so here is a new post to get things going... then i may have to start blogging backwards while standing on my head. Its gonna be difficult... but I think I can manage :)
I shot this engagement session with Shanon & Dan the other day in an alley in the Mission District of San Francisco. They have a personal connection to the art in the alley, and they brought their bikes, probably because that is how they get around the city... and they served as a great prop. An engagement session should be a good time. So if you are a little nervous about being photographed, its always good to
a) dress comfortably in clothes that make you feel like a million bucks
b) when in doubt bring a prop.. After a few minutes in the spotlight, it gets easier, but its nice to have something to hold onto....
c)have fun. and don't take it too seriously. The best photos happen when you are having fun and not thinking too much about the process... :)

Progressive Grounds Free Shoot

* flyer/poster design by my good friend, the talented Robin Terra terrastudio.net thank you thank you!!!
FREE!!! I know, it sounds crazy... but it was so much fun! I set up a portable studio at the Progressive Grounds Cafe (on 21st & Bryant in the Mission) and invited some parents and kids to come by and enjoy a free sitting... Each family got roughly 30 minutes of photography. The images will be posted online with a password so that they can view and purchase prints if they like.
